It’s easy to hate or love, hard to hide from and still the Grand Central Station of greed, selfishness and explosively inflated egos. It’s also a PG-13 rated film which glamorizes wealth while highlighting the; greed, revenge, cheating, lying, coercion, influence, power and extravagance used to attain it. Does that make the film bad, no of course not, the movie simply plays into the moral decay of our society. If this film is viewed objectively, it can be a powerful intro into another story currently being written, “The Rise and Fall of Capitalism and (at least) Western Civilization”.
Wall Street is even more powerful and self protective than the legislative and executive branches of government. No, Wall Street can’t publicly declare war, legislate give-away programs, create an impossible sovereign fiscal deficit, impose higher taxes, create a private bank that rules the world and then successfully blame others for their own creations. But … Wall Street can privately undermine the economy, steal our savings, impose fear, promote decadence, destroy lives without conscience, incite terrorism through global misunderstandings and somehow legally justify national and global financial rape while avoiding penalties (while in fact being rewarded). Wall Street (the place) is a good idea gone bad.
As a nation of people, we’ve allowed money to rule instead of God, captains of industry to become envied yet false idols and elected officials to create and benefit from the most exclusive, private, self serving sanctuaries on the planet, all on OUR tab.
We choose what to watch and buy, how to invest, whom to place our trust in and where to spend our time. WE CHOOSE these, nobody else, so who’s to blame? CHANGE is a matter of choice! Start now, accept responsibility, embrace change. VOTE AND MAKE MUCH better life choices and life investments.

It isn’t often that my loyalties to both nation and God are in conflict but this is one of those times where it is. The USA, 234 years ago founded a nation under God. Since 1954, Our Pledge of Allegiance to this nation and it’s flag has included the words, “One nation under God, indivisible … “. Two of the primary drivers that promulgated our ancestral emigration to a new land and nation, were the principles of free speech and… read more
Life will deal us some really lousy hands, a lot more than we want. YET, the sun will rise again tomorrow and there will be another chance and another hand to play out. Learn something from each “down” and know this; there is one all-star, perfect teammate that always wants to play by your side, you just need to invite him to be on your team. When you learn this and recognize his voice, your challenges will become opportunities and your daily obstacles will become your personal playground. Here’s your clue, The Word.
Discrimination in America (at least) is alive and growing, we simply shift the targets of discrimination as time dictates. The recent recession or depression (depending on how hard the impact has been on you), evidences this clearly. Prior to this economic downturn, there was a competitive race to hire experience. Now, when profits are threatened (yet corporate coffers remain full of cash) the youngest and the oldest are the worst hit. The youngest because they have little experience and no seniority (no juice). The older because they are (or were) paid more and may not be perceived as aggressive, as some middle ground climbers.
What does today offer that yesterday didn’t? An opportunity? Technology can offer an incredible advantage or a devastating drawback. We’ve already taken so many of the newest technologies and woven them into our everyday lives. Most of the time, we don’t even think of them as options, but rather as essential foundation stones for our lives. And we feel it when we lose them. I spoke with a friend who was entering church the other day. He was immensely frustrated… read more
True LEADERS are chosen by people who want to be lead, they are not self nominated or chosen by a narrowly focused group of political stage hands.
It often seems as though suffering is woven into the very fabrics of our society, relationships, history and even our natural surroundings. But that’s no excuse for our own “advertent” or intentional thoughtless acts or cruelty, contrarily, that is exactly what demands that we do everything in our power to stop the mindless acts that can cause deep human harm and lasting damage. There are many reasons why both young and old people perpetuate harm. The least of which is… read more
What kind of world is it where 98.2% of the global population can be so easily intimidated and silenced by the 1.8% vocal minority? Anyway, I can’t think of any other single societal subject where this could happen. Who can respect the court of any land (or dictatorial mandate) which effectively, even if unintentionally, gags and silences 98.2% of the people?
