Everywhere
There was a time in my life when I wondered if God was hearing my prayers. When I think about it now, that was pretty shortsighted. God created everything and He controls the evolution of everything. When we walk on grass it’s His carpet, when we swim in a lake or an ocean, it’s His pool. When we climb a tree or catch an autumn leaf falling, it’s His playground, securely anchored by His gravity. God, as the maestro, conducts the orchestration of every sound that ever rippled through time and space. He is the inspiration behind every invention, discovery, recipe and configuration imagined by the man He created. God is the creator of the mind, and propels the spinning of it’s imagination. He created both nature and man, the ever-evolving mainstays of civilization. He is above, yet a part of everything, so it’s impossible to hide from him as Adam tried to do in the Garden of Eden after eating the fruit of the forbidden tree (Genesis 3:8). There is no escaping God, and as He wanders through our hearts and thoughts, there is no way he could fail to hear our prayers. He gave birth to our souls and nurture’s them with His Spirit. God is universal and personal, in us, about us and beyond us. Psalm 139:7-13. God hears every cry, whimper, laugh and gasp. He can feel each heart beating in our prayers and smiles each time that we realize this and offer Him thanks. He sees our nervous blinks, hears our painful groans, feels our aching hearts and He can sense our salty tears. He revels in our laughter. We love the idea of free will but as victims of it’s misuse we cry foul and seek His Fatherly reconciliation. God is love, pouring out over every living thing, whether it lives for a single nano second, a thousand years or eternity with Him. Underestimating God has been the affliction of every lost soul who’s ever wandered the vast expanses of the grounds of His incredible kingdom.
So the next time you offer up a prayer or praise (request or thank-you), know that God, our wondrous benefactor, understands what you’re thinking, even before you do. For those of you who might still be in denial about God, I invite you to offer up any other rational explanation of His creations. Facts; matter does not create matter, and only life creates life. There are no accidents in this creation, only in our humanly ill-advised uses of it. Prayers are always heard by God, who knows what’s necessary for the now and then’s of each life. This world can be very hard and lonely, yet I know in my heart, mind and soul, the absolute truth about God’s love, which single-heartedly sustains life.
