Love Central

Good writers today are taught not to construct run-on sentences, but sometimes they’re necessary. The following sentence, although complex and conjunctive, really cannot be parsed out as a series of separate thoughts or sentences. It would not carry the same, necessary, inclusive weight of descriptive, essential truths. The Apostle Paul said this about God, us and love. “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.” (Ephesians 4:11-16 NKJV). A great misconception which has overtaken us, is that Paul is speaking of apostles or disciples here, essentially people who have made the church their vocation. That is absolutely wrong. That may be where a five-fold ministry is most evident, if at all, but it is certainly not an exclusive arrangement. This is a definitive, descriptive portrait of the entire body of Christ. This is what was always intended to be the church (of Christ). We’ve drifted so far away from these concepts (and divine gifts) that they are no longer visible (much less understood) from the highest perspectives of our satellite, overseen world.

Every child of God was created to be a productive saint in His army. Each have been equipped with some degree of these original, essential understandings of spiritual survival and tools of spiritual engagement. The fact that so few of us are aware of this is a travesty of omission. Once we become aware of this universal equipping, we can begin to see these natural gifts at work in others, even when they aren’t being used to glorify God and life as intended. Ask yourself; am I an organizer, insightful, able to sell what I believe in most strongly, a comforter to those I love or a teacher of that which engages me? Perhaps you’ve answered this question with; some more than others, but YES to some degree. This question was just the simplified version of the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher gift baskets. Uncovering and taking these traits or gifts from the natural, to the higher level of supernatural, was to be the work of a properly structured, coaching church, for it’s resident saints in waiting. For most churches, that stopped happening eons ago. As such, coming to know and grow with the fullness of Christ, has been relegated to the attics of history, to the antiquated throw-backs of way back when. No entourage, enterprise or corporate consensus can operate productively without these inherent traits functioning. Neither can Heaven on earth, which was God’s original blueprint for life, operate as originally and continually intended without a full complex of saints (that’s us) doing what we were created to do. It’s time to become the saints we were created to be, so welcome to love central. If life isn’t going the way we think it should, don’t blame God, His blueprint is perfect, it’s our execution which is flawed or non-existent.
