Wisdom Feeds Many
When you spend too much of your life simply listening and learning, you fail to establish a necessary pattern where others might benefit from what you’ve uncovered, regardless of how important it might be.
It’s often hard to tell if what you’ve discovered will be valued, but that should in no way cause any hesitation to share, with anyone willing to listen and consider what you have to say. Don’t misunderstand me, I’m not in anyway a proponent of trivial chatter which wastes our most valuable asset, time that could be spent studying and learning.
I know there is a significant component of the population that is underserved when it comes to both learning and sharing. These are people who are both paying attention and filtering out the unnecessary trivia. Teachers are too often teaching what they were taught, rather than what they’ve experienced. We are all on the learning train, so let’s visit the club car regularly and see if we can find someone with searching eyes, brimming with discoveries that they’d be willing to share. In time you’ll build a productive circle of friends who will serve each other well.
