Election Wisdom

Posted: December 19th, 2011   Category: Christianity, Common Sense

In troubled times, we can count on only a few people to follow true leaders. Those people make their choices without ever being connived, convinced, recruited or paid.  The rest of the world choses to follow the “trusted” referrals of; instinct, friends or sometimes simply the loudest voice. The first test of true wisdom is selflessness. Ask, who might this idea or cause benefit?  And then, who or what might it hurt? When we actually do encounter a source of wisdom, we are too often inclined to follow quietly, unsure enough to stay silent even in familiar places or to share with those who’ve chosen not to listen. Wise men never proclaim wisdom as their own, while those who claim to singularly hold the answers to all our questions, rarely ever have any answers. So what divining rod should we use to try and find this elusive well of wisdom which we seek? How can we test it’s veracity, measure it’s truths? Validate it’s source?

There are no schools of wisdom as such but there are rules and practices based upon these concepts. Sadly for many, wisdom is construed as a constantly evolving set of logical theories, routinely changing as our wealth of knowledge and experience grows.  Those who truly understand wisdom however, know how it bridges ancient and contemporary cultures in it’s original unedited form. Wisdom can no more be modified by time, than can our our core set of basic human instincts. Wisdom is timeless and “By wisdom the Lord laid the earth’s foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place;” (Proverbs 3:19 NIV). History has revealed many who’ve offered tidbits of profound wisdom on subjects both near and dear to their hearts, but none since the time of Solomon have been specifically ordained to offer wisdom as straight from well as does our Lord Jesus Christ. God is the all-knowing source behind every ounce of wisdom ever offered to humanity. Those who do not know God, can not know the profound depth of His Wisdom. To follow the leadership of an ungodly man or woman is simply another form of spiritual and societal suicide. The earth’s foundations are of greater complexity than the aggregated knowledge and wisdom of all humanity over all of time. The placement of the heavens, were never intended to be understood within the limitations of our lifetimes. To gain even particles of this incredible wisdom, we must have God solidly in our camp.  For this to happen, we must invite, appreciate and treasure His participation in all that we do. This is even more important for true leaders. Look deeper.
