The Man From Heaven
Each day many unreasonable occurrences confound us. If we purchased a 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle, opened the box and found only 5 puzzle pieces, we’d be hard pressed to envision the placements, angles or even the subject purpose of the puzzle’s image. Such is life. The pieces which are presented to us, mean little in the big picture, but without them that picture would be very different, incomplete, less fulfilling. Everybody walking the planet confronts many subjects each day, some shared by the world, others unique to one life. Those instances of sharing produce endless ripples, which in turn alter the world. We can hope that one day, if allowed to share The Kingdom of God, we might see the same picture He’s been gazing at since “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1 ESV)
When an accident crashes out life, a war produces widows and orphans, a wave washes a village away, we wonder … Are you here Lord, why did this happen? It’s so difficult to comprehend abilities and powers that can defy nature, restore life, see thousands of years into the future AND not have those incredible powers utilized to eliminate misery from the only life that we know. “So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.“ (John 5:19 ESV) We were given something more than just words describing heaven, something more that we could lean on during the most trying, confounding times. We were shown one perfect life which both descended from and ascended to that mysterious heaven. We were clearly shown, the only example of what one living in the Kingdom of God is like. The man we’ve known as the Prince of Peace lived among us for many years. He loved everyone. He never raised his incredibly powerful hands to do harm to anyone. In the beginning, He created the earth as a precious garden filled with the essentials of life. His compassion has no limits. Just as our example was, so must heaven be. We come to know people by their actions, their words, their example. We were of course given the very best example, who will one day judge the rest of us, worthy or not to share His home. The earth was created for everyone, while heaven’s entrance has a narrow gate. The unreasonable occurrences which confound us are not the works of this man. The redemption and salvation of His Children is the life work of Jesus, the man from heaven.
