Wasn’t Pretty But It Worked Better
The time has passed on our two party political system and the electoral college developed to carry it out. Candidates are indistinguishable, be they Republican or Democrat anymore. True independence is the principle pivotal point for voters today and whatever we need to do to assure that we keep it. We should be and are focusing on the issues, which short of war, threaten our nation more today than ever before. The two party system creates near impossible barriers to compromise, growth, security and fiscal responsibility.
True LEADERS are chosen by people who want to be lead, they are not self nominated or chosen by a narrowly focused group of political stage hands. Influence is the power behind the power today and the influencers want to avoid the spotlight yet spearhead their own private agendas. Forgetting what the people want, politicians have been assuming that they know more than the constituents they REPRESENT. A fatal error we can easily vote out.
Don’t assume that your appointed official is important or necessary because he or she chairs a committee or has been around “forever.” The time has come to make a point with Washington. No more self serving programs, elite benefits, pay raises, unlimited budgets and global interference. Address the issues in any order you want but address them NOW:
1. Security until the world understands that we don’t want to run it.
2. Fiscal responsibility, balanced budgets and cuts, debt reduction and then elimination.
3. Energy independence to avoid future global conflicts.
4. A government with services for it’s citizens, not for it’s visitors.
5. An economic plan for the future that uses our natural resources and skills.
6. Ethical behavior and selflessness in all things.
If you don’t see these changes coming from your “representatives,” vote them out with the next election and start fresh. Remember we operated without a Federal Government between 1492 and 1776 (for 284 years), it wasn’t pretty but we could do it again, try us!
